Why use my services as an Interior Designer?

I often meet people who have design questions or who are looking for someone to help them resolve issues within their homes or work places.They don’t necessarily think they need or want to involve a design professional. These people wouldn’t hesitate to call a plumber or electrician, or ask advice from a pharmacist or dietitian. So what make it so hard to employ the services of a designer? It may be they have misconceptions that an Interior Designer will be too expensive or will force designs on them they don’t want. They may fear a designer will make their home not their own or will take over the project and stamp their “Look” on it.

Let me reassure you, that is not what I am about! I believe a good designer listens to your requirements, takes into account your style and needs and will work to understand your situation. By doing this I ensure that ;

• You have an expert working with you, someone who will make sure the end result is exactly what you were hoping for.

Beautiful, functional spaces do not happen by accident!

Some people have a gift for putting together rooms in a way that is pleasing to the eye, as well as functional. However, most people struggle with this! What seems so easy can be difficult to make happen. Interior designers have extensive training that accompanies an interior design degree. When I start planning a room, I always base it on 4 principles of design:

• Physical: Its layout and function. What is the emphasis of the space?
• Mental: How it is organised?  Does the rhythm of the space work? It should always be functional as well as beautiful.
• Social: Is it welcoming? Does it have harmony? Is there a balance of colour, pattern, light & texture.
• Spiritual: How does it make you feel? Is it balanced in scale and proportion? Are its lines and shapes pleasing?

As your Interior Designer, I will:

• Help you find and enhance your style by  using my knowledge and expertise to help you pinpoint your style and needs. My suggestions for you will help us work towards creating a space that reflects who you are. There are a so many possible design choices! My advice will always guide you to what will work best for you.
• Solve problems; because every project, small or large, presents challenges. I am trained in knowing how to come up with solutions that work and to solve the problems when they arise.
• Prevent costly mistakes, considering there are so many choices out there, how do you know which is the best for you? I have the expertise and will guide you to make the right choices for you.
• Simplify your life by making the most of what you have and do the research to find what you need where necessary.
• Make sure the job gets done. I work with your tradesman. I make sure that everything is completed, and that all the details have been taken care of.
• Be an independent objective voice at a time of change. With a blend of creativity and practical advice I’ll help you find a way to make your  space work beautifully for you.
